India Ink on paper. Lettering was originally Laser-printed, then art was drawn on lettered sheet and glued to a thicker board for shipping to the publisher.
Baker was one of the pioneers in digital comic book production, starting in 1989 with "Why I Hate Saturn" at DC Comics and this was one of the earliest methods used for lettering on computer.
